The Pacquiao vs. Marquez Rematch

The “Pambansang Kamao” which means Philippine’s National Boxer, had gained his long overdue title as the Feather Weight Champion of The World. His long and intensive training had paid-off as he took his defenses up to a higher level as a maturing boxer over the years. Long have he prepared and awaited for this rematch.
Looking back at the first Pacquiao v. Marquez match, in the US, he was just the unknown boxer that had a chance with the Champion of the world, people were calling out the name of Marquez, but Manny, baring the heart of the fighter, surprised the audience as he knocked Marquez down thrice in the first round. Manny was on fire and you can see the expression on Marquez face as a taint of shock can’t help but show to have encountered a fighter such as Manny. And going through all the rounds, the match came to a suspicious DRAW. It brought the audience the kind of quality fight that one would want to see on screen but it left a pinch of pain that made Manny come back for more as to claim his title to be the next Feather Weight Champion of The World.
After a couple of years of both fighters fighting different fights, the long awaited rematch had finally come, and Manny and Marquez had long waited for this call. Both were sturdy and more skillful than ever. Both were careful at first that Pacquiao only started throwing in his jabs after 30 seconds in the first round. Both were trying to read each other’s thoughts of combinations being used. Both were waiting for an opening.
As some people was not expecting to see Pacquiao play this careful and they were expecting to see more, but he knew his way around as knowing that knocking down Marquez thrice in a round again won’t help him to win. Both were very technical not to mention Marquez’s technical foul hitting Pacquiao below the belt. It wasn’t as a surprise basing from Marquez’s fighting history.
Both fighters had one of their eyes swollen but Marquez’s wound was more grotesque. In the latter rounds of the fight, the people were ecstatic that most of them stood as they watched. The match came to an end and when the word “new” echoed across the place, Manny Pacquiao teared in joy. He became and is the Feather Weight Champion if The World. Pacquiao is the only asian boxer who has earned 3 consecutive world titles.
