“Mt. Kitanglad” highest moutain in the Philippines

The famous attraction of the province of Bukidnon which is located in Intavas, La Fortuna, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. is the Mt. Kitanglad It is said to have the highest peak above sea level which offers a challenge to mountaineers. It is home of the Philippine Eagle and other rare bird species. It has different species of bonsai trees, wild flowers and wild orchids. Recently, the biggest flower in the world was discovered in the mountain.
I’ve climbed the second highest mountain of the country before. On the way to the top of Mt. Kitanglad, you will be fascinated with the scenic view of the Waterfalls of mount Dulang-dulang, it’s in the vicinity of Mt. Kitanglad. It’s so fun also that you eat your lunch sitting on the rock while watching the view of the waterfalls. Mountain climbing experiences are very unpredictable. It will stimulate your physical as well as your mind on how to reach the peak without causing you to fall into accident. I was the first one who reached the peak in our group. All the perspiration and hardships were gone when I reached the peak. It is some kind of fulfillment in me. It is the same way as, accomplishing a task, such a nice feeling when it is done, right?
Windbreaker pants or jacket will be best suit to climb up the mountain because it keeps you protected from the sun or from the long grasses, or even from forest leeches that will suck your blood. You must wear also pump shoes or rubber shoes that has spike, preventing you from sliding and get into accident. You must also wear hand gloves and bonnets to protect you from cold, its getting colder in the high altitude.
At the peak, you’ll see a panoramic view of Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City. It has cabin which could cater up to 20 persons. Each cabin has 50 watts bulb that would keep you warm. They also have electric stove where you can cook your food.
You must not forget your first aid kit when you plan to climb a mountain or at least a medicine for cold relief…have fun and good luck to your adventure…
