THE RUGGED ISLAND of Camaguin

Camiguin Island, Camaguin was derived from the word “kamagong”, a tree. It placed it’s historic map as Ferdinand Magelland and Miguel Lopez de Lagaspi set foot in this Island in 1521 and 1565. Though Camaguin is just a small island, the size does not matter once you see the beauty that it unfolds. Camaguin is in the northern Mindanao with hilly landscape dominated by seven volcanoes. The island has natural spring and cool climate that makes the experience there revitalizing. The brisk of a place that is know to be one of the friendliest places in the Philippines. The people here as hospitable, friendly and genuine. There are so many wonders this place can reveal, from hot springs, waterfalls a breathtaking coastline, beautiful coral reefs and beaches that have alternate white and black sand. It’s old charm is never fails as it is one of the most beautiful places to tour in the Philippines.

The island is a 62-square kilometer island-province it is unique in having a couple of volcanoes that is only found in this island and no where else on earth. The famous volcano her is Mt. Hobok-Hibok who had it’s last eruption in 1951. It is not just being known for it’s Lanzones Festival, magnificent caves are also sculpted in it’s wilderness.

The popular places here in Camaguin island would Ardent Spring Resort, Santo Nino Cold Spring, Medano Islet, and Mantique Island.

If there is a lanzones festival, then it wouldn’t be surprised that one of the best lanzones would be from Camaguin. Imagine that lanzones wer blooming in January making this have the edge of lanzones production. Although there was a shortage in the production of lanzones for a time due to the typhoon, it made up for it as it boosted it production right after.
