Mindanao

The southern part of the Philippines is known as the Mindanao island province. It is the next largest area following Luzon. The distinction of Mindanao is that it consists of vastly high mountainous regions and yet, in the very same breath, it is able to display urban Philippine living at its finest.

The places that are “most sought after” by tourists who wish to encounter an authentic and significant Mindanao experience should visit Davao, Mount Apo and Cagayan de Oro.

Cagayan de Oro’s name actually means “The City of Golden Friendship”. It is in fact considered as a contemporarily busy-business trade and center which just happens to be famous for its gracious and very welcoming vicinities.

So if you happen to be in Cagayan de Oro, you might as well drop by and visit the nearby province known as the pineapple plantation – The Bukidnon province.

Another awesome destination in Mindanao is the cargo city with a bustling port. Davao is one of the most thriving corporate quarters in the country and its success in that arena is one of its major strengths. When you get to Davao, you should automatically try the local eateries and restaurants in that place. You will find that their service is one of the best in the world while having that exceptional charisma and allure that only the unique people in Davao can offer.

For those nature lovers and enthusiast, why not try hiking, trekking and mountaineering, I suggest you check-out the tallest mountain in the Philippines known as Mt. Apo. This mountain stands at 9,688 ft and for dare devils out there, this is the perfect option for you.

Visayas

One of the most eminent groups of island destination can be located at the central part of the Philippines – the Visayas region. This is the region that boasts of the most famous world-wide beaches and resorts not just in Asia but in the world; these are Boracay, Palawan, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar and Tubbataha Reef.

Before we proceed further, I would like to suggest that you partake in a scuba diving experience if you happen to find yourself in Palawan – the marine county that houses two (2) of Asia’s finest marine parks. These would be the famous marine sanctuary known as the Tubbataha Reef Marine National Park and the other is Puerto Princesa. These reefs are fine examples of a natural world heritage location that enriches the marine life.

When you combine all these fun and superb places in Visayas, you can already create a travel collage of the most beautiful and memorable experiences that you can ever have in an island paradise. If you have the desire to associate with the aquatic flora and fauna, you should unquestionably go to the Subterranean River National which is found in Cebu.

Cebu just happens to be the Philippines’ counterpart to Tokyo and / or Shanghai when it comes to the ideal mergence of economic and historical development.

For animal lovers out there, Bohol will present you with an explicitly blissful way of spending your day with delightful and charming dolphins. Samar on the hand is an excellent retreat for those who wish to go bird watching. This place is a treasure ground for the most exotic and unusually striking birds like the Philippine eagle, Philippine flower-pecker and Philippine creeper just to name a few.
