Philippines is a country which has produced many inventors. I don’t know what the reasons are. Maybe because we are lacked of wealth and high-tech gadgets which other countries have, that’s why we are more creative and imaginative. Because of financial problem, we don’t have the right materials to be used or so we tend to improvise things. There’s a good proverb in English which stressing this point: Necessity is the mother of invention.
Others say that Filipinos are good imitators. We are good in copying things and make our own version. Even in foods, we make a new twist flavor for the foreign foods to be more localized that would suit to our taste. But with being an imitator we tend to impressed millions of people worldwide and in other ways changed the world.
Take for example, the moon buggy that was invented by the Filipino inventor. It was a machine that traveled across the moon surface. It was seen on TV by millions of people in the whole world. Other one is the fluorescent bulb it was invented by Mr. Agapito Flores. It is widely used around the world.
Roberto del Rosario is a Filipino Inventor who invented the Karaoke Sing Along System. His invention is remarkably great; it gives us happiness every time we sing along with our friends or with our family. It gives an encouragement for those people who are not really good in singing. It is widely spread throughout the country and even to the other countries.
There are still a lot of Filipino inventors in the country to mention and all of those are great inventors who are trying and helping the world to become a better place to live. We Filipinos have a lot of things to be proud of. We have great skills and potentials. We make the most of everything of what we have but sometimes we don’t have the courage to pursue our dreams. And the worst thing is, we wait for the opportunity to knock in our door.
