Charice Pempengco is the only Filipina who received a standing ovation from her performances at United States of America, United Kingdom, Italy, South Korea, Canada and Netherlands. She is said to be the international singing sensation because of her achievements in her singing career globally. Recently, she sang the national Anthem of America which is the Star Spangled Banner, in front of more than fifty thousands people at the opening day ceremony of Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Aside from standing ovation she had received from the audience, she also received positive comments on her performances from different critiques abroad. She is really a great singer with a powerful high pitch voice!
Charice was discovered in national TV singing contest which is the ‘Little Big Star’. She was my bet to win on that contest but unfortunately, she was only on the third place. She became popular when one of her avid fans posted her singing performance at YouTube and makes the whole world impressed with her amazing voice. After that she was invited as a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and gained a standing ovation. That was the beginning of her carrier in the Hollywood. The highest paid TV host Oprah Winfrey was so impressed by Charice and introduce her to the music producer named David Foster. Then she performed a duet with Celine Dion, appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, and invited to sing in the inauguration of the President of United Sates, Barrack Obama.
Charice was awarded as one of the twelve most outstanding people for "People of the Year" in 2008 for People Asia magazine.
Charice is currently working in Los Angeles on her International debut album with her producer, David Foster as well as some of the top song writers in Hollywood. The album is projected to be released this summer.
