Here are facts that are distinctly Pinoy:
1. Everybody loves to sing even those who cannot carry a tune. Anywhere you go, you’re definitely sure to find a karaoke machine commonly known as videoke.
2. Filipinos love to entertain. They are very hospitable that they’d even go the extra mile just to make sure a visitor’s enjoying his/her stay.
3. A party to Filipinos mean food, drinks, singing, some dancing, and more FOOD!
4. Education is top priority. Cliche but parents believe that it is the best intangible gift they could ever give to their children.
5. Most women are obsessed at having fair skin. Whitening products appeal to women, promising them fairer, whiter skin.
6. Religion and tradition is given much importance. Every Sunday, churches are jam-packed with people who have come to pray. They also celebrate town fiestas and festivals that are offered to their patron saints.
7. If you see somebody with their lips pouting, don’t immediately conclude they’d like to be kissed. They’re just probably pointing to something. Yes, Filipinos often use their lips to point to an object or a person nearby.
8. Condiments and seasonings are available for customers in most restaurants and chefs don’t consider it an insult.
9. Being friendly and thoughtful, they’d invite anyone to join them for a meal. Of course, they don’t expect the invited to actually join them.
10. Giving nicknames are considered a person’s way of being sweet so on average, a Filipino has five different pet names. Most common are Baby which often become Bebe or Bibi or Biboy or Bigirl. And of course, the repeated syllabic names like Kring-kring, Bongbong, Peypey, Tingting, or, the current president’s name, Noynoy.
